Gwen and Fionas 5th Birthday

For Gwen and Fionas 5th birthday, Joy put together a buggy birthday party at her home. She decorated with balloons, turning them into all kinds of bugs and planned a lot of fun activities!

When we got to her house the kids played together for a bit, before the fun activities were to start. First on the list was a bug hunt. Joy scattered tons of bugs and each child was to find bugs for their bug catchers.

After hunting bugs, Joy got out the ladybugs she ordered for the kids to release. In a mesh bag there were 300 ladybugs (which she kept in her fridge!)! The kids got to see the ladybugs, then they were dumped into Joys garden. I hope they are comfortable in their new home.

Joy then ushered everyone inside to play a couple games inside...pass the lizard, in which the kids sat in a circle passing the lizard/salamander and when the music stopped the child holding the lizard won! The kids also played "Help the ladybug out" by licking and sticking Oreos onto the Ladybugs body to make it spotted.

Then it was time to eat cake! Joy did a great job making the cupcakes and anthill cake, very buggy! She also made dirt...chocolate putting, with gummy worms. Tanner was very disgusted with the dirt, he thought it was real dirt and so wanted nothing to do with it!
Happy Birthday Fiona and Gwen!
The kids had a great time at Gwen and Fionas party. Tapanga cried when it was time to leave! Joy did a great job putting everything together, very creative! I will have to get her input for our party next year! Out of our close group of twins, it is hard to believe all of our twins are now 5, they have gotten big so quick!

Lunch outside

As the weather is getting nicer, the kids are able to enjoy more time outside. So, today it is lunch outside...I didn't want to have to clean up the kitchen! The kids ended up playing more than actually eating though!

Patti's

Thomas and were heading to Paducah to celebrate Marijkas birthday when I got the idea about stopping at Patti's. Neither Thomas nor myself had been there, the weather was gorgeous and we thought why not? For those of you who haven't been to Pattis, its a restaurant or 1880's settlement, that is famous for its thick pork chops. It also has many other sights to see.

So, we went to Chuckee Cheese for Marijkas birthday, then on the way back home we stopped at Pattis. We were a little early and so visited their little farm, played on the play ground and walked around the beautiful grounds.
After checking out the grounds, we went to the restaurant to eat our dinner. Thomas ordered the famous pork chops and really enjoyed them. I ordered steak kabobs that were really good. Next time we go, we will have to play a round of putt putt and Thomas and I can't be on our diets so we can enjoy the flower pot bread!

Where has my good little girl gone?

Tapanga has become curious, she has started getting into things that until this point she has just accepted she wasn't suppose to be messing with! Where did my good little girl go?

I thought I heard her rummaging around upstairs and then Tanner calls out, "Mommy I need you to come up here, Panga is playing with something she is not suppose to." I get upstairs and Tapanga has a bowl full of odds and ends that she has added water to and is playing with in the play kitchen sink. Later on the same day, Tapanga has found a roll of ribbon and unwound it all. She also slathered something on the bathroom floor and made it slick.
Then, later the same day Tapanga was found playing with the boys toothpaste. She lathered it on like it was lotion.
The next morning Tapanga was found going through my bathroom drawers! I just want my good little girl back!

Funny Tanner Moment

As we were leaving the daycare yesterday, Grandma didn't want to go out in the cold so she asked if one of the kids could go get the mail. I sent Tanner. Tanner goes to the mailbox, which turns out to be much taller than he. Tanner opens the mailbox, looks inside and says "Yup there's mail in there." Then he shuts the door!

Tyler the turd!

So today when I went to pick up the kids from daycare, Ms. Krystal, the boys teacher, started laughing and said Tyler was funny today. It seems that since the boys have been moved into the 5 year old class that they don't take naps anymore in preparation for school. During nap time the kids work on something quietly. Today, Tanner was sitting at the teachers desk working on some pictures during nap time and fell asleep in his chair. Tyler, the turd, saw this and went over to him and pushed him over so that he fell out of his chair! Then, another little boy fell asleep at the table and Tyler, the turd, went over and sat on his lap! Oh, my what am I going to do with this child?! :)

Facial Hair

Thomas is growing a beard! I don't know what got into him, but he decided he was tired of shaving and he was going to grow a beard. I don't particularly like it...it makes him look different and I don't like the scratchy feel when he kisses me!
One day, about 2 weeks later, he surprised me by shaving so I didn't get a picture of him with the full blown beard.
