Flood

For two days it rained continuously and what happened then was never expected...flooding! When I say flooding, you may think a little here or there, but no...this is more flooding than I have ever seen before or probably will ever again.

In Clarksville we have two rivers that run through, the Cumberland overflowed its banks covered Riverside Drive, went across Riverside and went inside buildings on the other side of the road. Business and restaurants that we frequented were devastated and it is so hard to believe what Mother Nature can and did do.
I had seen parts of Riverside flooded before, but never like this, never to this extant. If I think Clarksville got it bad, Nashville even got it worse! The devastation I have been watching on the news is so very hard to believe. Opryland Hotel, one of the biggest attractions in Tennessee, was evacuated Sunday night. 1500 guests were transported by bus to a shelter set up in a local high school and now the pictures we are seeing come out of Opryland look awful. A place where we have stayed many times is now under 10 ft. of water in some places and closed indefinitely.

I feel like all I have done lately is watch the news and look at the devastation. My heard is sad for all that has been lost and all that has to be done in time ahead to get us back to where we use to be. I do look forward though to the day when I can visit Nashville and the flood waters are just a memory!

Look Its a Deer!

Eating dinner the other night, Tapanga looked out the window and said "Look, its a deer!" Thomas looked out and said, "Uhhhh, no thats not a deer!"

T-Ball

The boys have started their t-ball season. This year they are playing on the A's in green and gold. We play at Woodlawn park, which has undergone extensive remodeling during the off season. It looks really good now, but it did make us have to start a little late this season.
This year on the 5/6 year old t-ball, the coach pitches a couple balls before they can use the team. Already the boys have gotten better about hitting the balls that are pitched, hopefully by the end of the season they won't need the tee at all!
The first night of games, I had to leave to attend a meeting, Thomas called me to let me know...somehow Tyler lost his glove. How did the child lose his glove? It was there when I left...I guess Tyler threw a huge fit, because Thomas and a few of the other parents couldn't find it. Eventually, the glove was found...under the coaches bag!
The boys have also been getting distracted already on the field. Tyler has been playing in the dirt and Tanner watching other things around the field!
We are looking forward to a fun t-ball season as the boys develop their skills!

Judge Joe Brown Show

On Friday, when I got home, I went to check my answering machine. It was blinking with a new message. I click play and the craziest message played:
