We have walls!

I am very excited, we have walls!

Drywall has been installed at our house, it has been mudded and sanded! They look so good! I can't believe how much bigger the rooms look with the drywall in them! I would have thought they would look bigger when you could see all the way up to the roof, but no! I am soooo excited, the house is starting to look like a house on the inside and we are ready for the next step!

Nap Time

Thomas caught us!
On the weekends the boys have to "rest", they don't have to nap, but they do have to "rest". Usually, they get to rest in the playroom with a movie on, but sometimes Thomas claims the playroom so he can watch his own movie. This was one of those days. Thomas had the kids lay in their beds, they could read books if they wanted. Well they were done by 10-15 minutes into rest time and were coming out letting us know!

Thomas decided to let the kids lay down in our bed so they could watch t.v. After a few, I thought I would go up and lay with them, to spend some time with them and all. Well you see what happened...we all fell asleep!

T-ball Game 2

Monday, May 18
We were given advance notice that we would need to make-up another of our t-ball games tonight, so it wasn't as rushed as the other time had been.

This game we were playing against the Yankees and I would call it the game of pile ups! Every time the ball would get hit and the kids would chase after it they would pile on top of each other in attempts at getting the ball! Very cute!

Tyler was bad about causing the pile ups. He would be late getting to the piles and then just fall on everybody else, I don't think he realized they were all going for the ball, he just saw a pile thought about joining it! Tanner felt like he had to slide into the middle of it, so his body is often turned from where it needed to b. Of course, it seemed every time it seemed my two seemed to be right in the middle of it. The coaches tried their hardest to keep the kids from continuing this, they would pull the kids and tell them they weren't to that, but it still happened.

Tanner has some crazy pictures from this game, he seems to be all over the place!

Tanner was also lovey, dovey this game, he came out a couple times to give everyone hugs and tell us he loved us. This picture is him going out to the field and having to come talk to us beforehand.Tanner and Tyler in the dugout.Tyler is ready on 1st!

Handy Helpers

Sunday, May 17
We lazed around quite a bit in the morning. Later in the afternoon, Thomas said something about wanting to wash the cars. So, I got the kids dressed in their swim suits and took them outside to help! It was colder than I expected, but I guess that is what I get for being lazy and not checking the weather first!

We helped daddy wash his truck first, everybody started off helping. Very quickly Tyler and Tapanga gave up and went off to do their own thing. Tanner is our big helper...he continued (taking small breaks every now and then) even when we moved onto the van. The brown van was actually white!
After washing the vehicles the kids started complaining about being hungry and so we found some hamburgers to cook and daddy cooked them up on the grill. Yum, yum!

Strawberry Jam

Saturday, May 16
Friends of ours took their kids strawberry picking last year and it looked like they had a lot of fun, so this year I wanted to try and take our kids. I don't remember who, but somebody mentioned something about strawberry picking and that it was almost over, so I had to get on it if I was going to take the kids. I asked Joy if her family would like to go at the same time we went and we set up a plan to take the kids on Sunday, May 17th.

My mother-in-law was reading the paper on Friday, when she read that the strawberry patch was going to be having the first ever Strawberry Jam. This event would include inflatables, games, and other activities for families to come out and have fun. We quickly changed plans decided to attend this event for the kids!

We wanted to get out there as early as possible, before the big crowds hit. The weather had been threatening for some time and we were worried about rain (this was during our really rainy May period). So we bought our bands, headed out to the let the kids play. Tanner saw a horse had to pet it, during this process the clouds got darker and down came the rain....soaking rain!

Luckily, we were under a huge pavilion type area and we didn't get wet, but the inflatables did! The petting zoo area was also under this pavilion and so the kids played with the animals while it rained. They had a horse, sheep, kittens, and chickens...the poor chickens were being tormented by two dogs.

The rain stopped pretty quickly even though it came down in buckets and so we let the kids play on the wet inflatables. The obstacle course for some reason or another had bubbles all over it! The kids enjoyed this for a few minutes.

After playing on the inflatables, we went and played the games that they had. Tanner also got a strawberry painted on his face.

Then it was time to pick strawberries! All of the kids had to have their own baskets, even though I was only going to buy one basket worth. The kids and I went to the strawberry fields, which were muddy and slushy because of all the rain. We had to be careful. Trying to teach the kids how to pick strawberries was fun, "Don't pick the ones with green on them, don't get the ones off the ground, reach in grab the ones on the inside." Needless to say it didn't last very long and mommy was the one to pick a good majority of the strawberries, although Tanner was pretty helpful also!

Poor Tanner slipped and fell and got mud all over the side of his leg. He says, "Mommy clean it off!" Here we are in the middle of the strawberry fields, me and the three kids, no diaper bag and he wants me to clean it off? "Sorry, you are going to have to wait till we get back to the car!"

Also, while we were out in the strawberry fields I hear, "and our next door prize winner is....TYLER BOWERS!" "What, are you kidding me!" Of course, it figures, I am out in the strawberry fields with the three kids by myself and we win a door prize, which you must be present to win! Needless to say, I didn't get it, I debated running in for it, but I couldn't just leave the kids in the fields all by themselves...no telling what they would have done or in the case of Tapanga, eaten!

Yes, every time I put a strawberry in Tapanga's basket and turned my back she would pick the strawberry up and take a little nibble! After awhile, the little nibble turned into bites, then the whole berry was gone. Tyler saw what Tapanga was doing, "Mommy, I want to eat one...just one mommy? Please?" So all the kids had a couple nibbles out in the fields.

Overall, I think the kids enjoyed the day. They love to eat strawberries and it was an experience, although, I think next year I will bring Thomas!

Dinner with Friends

Wednesday, May 13
Every now and then a few of us multiples moms get together with each other for dinner. It seems like it had been awhile since the last one, so when Melissa asked me one night if I wanted to get together I was all for it! We asked the other moms if they wanted to join us and Joy and Candi came along! Melissa, I think, was craving Hananoki and so that's where we went. Of course, I had no objections! :)

I am very thankful for my large group of friends...many of which I feel I could call on in a time of need and hope they know they can call on me!

T-ball game 1

Monday, May 11
Thomas got a call that the boys were to make up their first t-ball game that night. He got the call around 9:30...of course we already had plans, Thomas was going to go to the grocery store and I was to close the daycare...it was scramble time! We worked it out that Thomas would run home after work and grab the kids clothes and I called the daycare and got someone to cover me.

Then I get the message that Thomas is sick and is going home! Scramble time again, worked out a plan with my mom and mother in law, we have it covered and on our way!
At the ball field, come to find out the other team is running late! They won't be there till 6:00...6:00 rolls around and still no other team! While waiting for the other team to show, the kids played in the dirt and then Tanner wanted me to run the bases with him...so I did.
(I don't know what Tyler is doing here, but...)

So, we ended up playing the Pirates again (they were waiting around to play after us and the game where we were to play them also got rained out.)

It so cute! Tanner loves to run after the ball when its hit. Tanner played 3rd and Tyler 2nd. Ball gets hit to 1st Tanner runs to get it. Ball is foul and Tanner runs to get it. Tyler, on the other hand, played with the dirt!I thought this was a cute picture of Tyler standing on the base. This is Tanner running to catch the ball on the other side of the field. You can see Tyler standing on 2nd just watching.Tyler decided he would distract the other team members by talking to them while they were on the base. I just hope he doesn't get conked in the head one of these days!

A video of Tanner hitting the ball, Tyler runs to 3rd after Tanner hits. It was a good hit, but it was cute how he had to look at us almost the whole time.

Mothers Day

Our morning started off at the Opryland Hotel. Thomas wanted to make sure we got home in time to spend time with our mothers since it was Mothers Day. Before leaving Nashville we grabbed lunch at another of my favorite restaurants, TGI Fridays.

After lunch, we went home and relaxed for a few minutes. We had an adoption party to attend early afternoon to celebrate the adoption of two of our daycare children. So, the entire family went out to celebrate! Congratulations to Ashley and Henry!

The party was held at an events center on the river. It had rained almost 12 days straight so the river was really high! After attending the adoption party, we took the kids to the playground on the river where they ran and jumped and played. It was a nice afternoon.
In the parking lot of O'Charleys was one of the boys favorite vehicles...a FIRE TRUCK! So, Thomas and I took the kids to go see it, while we were standing there taking a couple pictures, the fireman came up and asked the boys if they wanted to sit in the drivers seat...talk about being super excited. We asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up and thought they would respond with a fireman...not Tanner, "an Army man" was his response. He was still excited about sitting in the fire truck.
We finished our Mothers Day with a family dinner at O'Charleys. Thomas' parents and my parents came and ate with us. What a nice, calm Mothers Day! I love my babies!
