Busy Afternoons and New Toys

The sale went great and as we were cleaning up I called Thomas to come help me, so Thomas and the kids came out Saturday afternoon to help load up the car and finish clean-up. I really appreciated it too, because I was tired!

After cleaning up Thomas' stomach started calling and we took the kids to Campbells Kitchen for dinner. After dinner we went to the storage unit and looked at our beautiful new dryer and freezer! Then we headed to the house since I hadn't seen it in awhile. The stone blended so well you almost couldn't see that two of the faces are stone versus brick, but it looks really good! We have been infested though...infested with flamingos! These are the flamingos from my birthday party. Finally, home we went to unload the cars.

The consignment sale is always a great time to get rid of things that the kids are tired of and then to pick up new toys that they would like to play with. This year I went a little overboard, but am really pleased with the items we picked up. After we got home, Thomas and I opened up some of the new things so that the kids could play...Tanner was so tired he didn't want to wake up for the new things! (Tapanga decided to go lay with him.)
The boys got a CARS racetrack and Tapanga got a Snap 'n Style doll and a dollhouse. Which I think the boys like playing with the doll and dollhouse just as much as Tapanga!

Sunday, was another gorgeous day. After doing a few errands, the kids played outside while I sorted through all the sale stuff. The boys played with everything in the garage. They rode their four wheelers, they roller skated, they rode their scooters...it was back and forth, back and forth. They had a great time.

Late afternoon, the boys helped Grammie water the the plants outside and then they noticed a big surprise! New four wheelers...they were super excited! What a beautiful weekend it was!

CPOM Spring Sale

This weekend was the CPOM spring consignment sale. I have been working so much that I had just finished getting things ready for the sale the night before set-up. This year the sale was to be held at my school so I felt I had more responsibility in making sure everything got put together right.

Unfortunately, Friday was also field day for me, so I spent all day outside in 80 degree sunshine and then spent all evening getting the cafeteria ready for the sale. I was exhausted by the time it was all said and done.
Here are a few pictures from the sale:

I love doing the sale. It's a lot of fun, a great way to get rid of a lot of the extra stuff we have around the house, and the company of the CPOM girls is great too!

Dress Up

Today was a lazy day, or at least I pretended it was until early afternoon when I needed to start tagging things for the consignment sale that's coming up next weekend! As I was going through the kids clothes and tagging them, Tapanga had to be in the middle of it! While I was trying to work, she would grab things and want to put them on, resulting in these pictures:
You will see she is wearing her yellow flowered pajama pants, with black dress shoes, a flower lei, and a white sun hat with ladybugs. She was also carrying a turtle and a green headband.

A great family day!

Today was a great family day. Just about everything we did, we did together. It wasn't one of those days were we did one thing together either, we did a lot!

We started out at the boys first t-ball game, where Tanner and Tyler played on the 4 year old Cardinals team and they both hit the ball and ran the bases. Grandma, Grammie and Grandpa all joined us at the t-ball game and were witness to the fun of t-ball!
After t-ball we went out to our new house. Thomas drove us all over to the house from the daycare, which for the grandparents was and adventure, because they all hitched a ride in the back of the pickup! While we were there we looked at how the stone was transforming the look of the exterior and we checked on the inside to make sure everything looked good...and it did!

After visiting our house, we went downtown to enjoy the Rivers and Spires festival. This is a yearly event that sets up concert stages and kid areas around 8 blocks of downtown. While here we walked the streets looking at the wares of the various vendors. The kids got to play in the kid area by bouncing and sliding down huge inflatables. We ran into the Nelson gang just in time for the childrens parade and so we joined them to watch that. Then Thomas and I went in search of food, where we found funnel cakes! (I had been wanting a funnel cake since the last carnival type thing we attended!)

After eating our funnel cakes, we wandered some more where we came across a big kid play area. I tried my hardest to get Thomas to velcro himself to the wall of one of those giant inflatables, but he would not do it unless I did so....I did! It was really hard to move in that suit and was harder than it looks, but was a bunch of fun. Thomas followed me and did a little better than me by getting a little further up the wall!

Right next to the velcro wall was a rock climbing wall and our big man Tanner wanted to climb up. We let him, I was worried that he would be to small, but he wasn't and I was biting my nails the whole time! He made it a little ways up and then slipped, but he was so brave and did such a great job!

After Tanner climbed the wall we went back to the truck in search of some real food (Thomas likes to eat!). We ended up at O'Charleys, where we ate lunch / dinner.

The weather was still nice so we walked over to the Riverwalk and playground over there, where the boys and Tapanga enjoyed playing and sliding for a while.

We left the park and were on our way back to the van and the kids all fell asleep in the truck. Thomas wanted help putting his new truck bed cover on the back of his truck so while the kids slept he and I attached his new cover. Afterwards, we went home, the kids and Thomas played and worked outside till dark. At dark, in come the kids for a bath!

What a busy day we had! The weather was beautiful and the company was grand! I love spending time with our little family on days like today!

T-ball Jamboree

Today the boys started something Thomas has been dreaming about for ages...they played their first t-ball game! The 2009 baseball season started at Woodlawn Park today. The boys are on the 4 year old Cardinals team.

We had to be at the park at 8:40 to get ready for pictures. As I was dressing the boys this morning I couldn't believe how big a pair of XS pants could be, scrambling for belts I just couldn't understand how Tyler's pants could be so much bigger than Tanner's. They wear the same size! That's when I looked at the tag and realized somebody had stuck a pair of S pants into the XS box! Trip to Wal-mart for Thomas the boys still have pants that are to big, but we are ready!

Being a part of the Cardinals team means WHITE pants for the boys!!! Do you know how hard it is to keep two 4 year old boys with white pants clean?! Its not easy, but we managed and took some cute pictures.

After taking pictures, we are just about ready to play our first game. April 18, 2009, first game is against the Pirates. The Pirates batted first and our team the Cardinals was in the field. Tanner was positioned between 1st and 2nd and Tyler between 2nd and 3rd. Tanner chased after many balls and on one fell down right before he got to it. 4 year old t-ball games are fun to watch, because the players don't really know how to play the game and on Jamboree day we only play through the batting order once, so after the Pirates batted it was our turn.

Tanner batted third and swung once and missed, but then he swung again and connected!

Tyler came up after Tanner and swung and connected with the ball and the tee and ran to 1st.

It was cute to watch the boys playing and as they get older they will get better. With this in mind, I am going to take a moment to remember what happened today and how cute they were for their first game of t-ball!

The Girlfriend

The saga continues...

As we were getting ready to leave the house this morning (April 16), Thomas found a picture on the table. Thomas said, "Tanner tell mommy about this picture". Tanner starts to giggle!
"This is from Alandria," says Tanner.
"Oh really and why did Alandria give you this picture (Easter egg with HEARTS!!)?"
"Because she's my girlfriend," Tanner replies with a big grin and giggles!

Easter Sunday

On Easter morning the boys got up and went into the playroom like normal (they are trained to go into the playroom when they get up and Thomas and I lounge in bed for a little longer). I don't think they even thought about the fact that the Easter bunny had visited! A little later I got up to make breakfast and got the camera ready for the kids to come downstairs . When the kids saw their Easter baskets they were very excited! The enjoyed seeing everything in them and Tapanga loved her teapot! (Tapanga got up late and her hair is WILD!)

After breakfast we got ready for church. We were going to Fellowship UMC with my in-laws and my parents were going also. Before we left I wanted to take a few family pictures and kid pictures...just in case the kids got dirty! By the way, trying to get a good family picture is almost impossible!

After church, we relaxed at home for a little while till dinner. We enjoyed a family dinner with Thomas' parents, my parents, and Thomas' brother. The boys like to play with Uncle Michael and we don't get to see him much so I was glad he was able to come out and spend some time with us. The kids are very lucky that Thomas and my parents get along so well, they love seeing their grandparents and we don't have choose who we are going to visit, not all children are as lucky as them!

After dinner, I got a wild hair and decided I wanted to color eggs...this is the first time we had ever done that with the kids. The boys wanted to drop the eggs into the dye a little to quickly...but we stopped that quickly. The boys really liked watching the eggs change colors and it seemed Thomas really enjoyed coloring eggs also, he had to make his extra special!

We had a very special Easter, we celebrated the reason for the season at church, spent time with family and enjoyed some beautiful weather outside!
