Hunting, hunting and more hunting!

We have been celebrating Easter for the last two weeks, starting last Saturday (April 4th) with the multiples Easter party. This is a yearly event in which members of our multiples club get together with the kids. We usually will eat and then hunt eggs, but its a great yearly event because it allows the kids to get together and play and the
adults socialize and share in the adventures of having multiples.

This years Easter party had a big turnout with many families coming out. In all there were about 12 families and 30 kids! We went to a picnic area behind The Richards church. It was a little muddy but the kids enjoyed playing in the woods.

Tanner and Tyler were excited about the first egg hunt of the year and Tapanga didn't really know what to expect. Tyler didn't get very many eggs because he was to busy trying to figure out what was in the eggs. Tanner did a good job and enjoyed running around finding the eggs.

Tapanga hunted with the smallest kids and wasn't really sure what to do, but picked up eggs quickly and ended up a nice stash for herself.

Of course, everyone is going to remember Tyler because he dropped his drawers and went pee in between the trees!

All the kids were sleepy after a long, fun afternoon with their friends!

On Sunday, April 5, the city hosted an Easter egg hunt at Heritage Park. It was a big hunt, with four different age groups. Many local families showed up. Tanner, Tyler and Tapanga all hunted in the same group with Thomas and I chasing after them. After yesterdays practice they all knew what to do and when they saw the field littered with eggs were excited about how many they could get.

We got caught by newspaper photographers at this egg hunt. Thomas and I had decided to take the kids and run to the middle of the field because of all the people, we didn't want the kids to get run over!

Again, Tanner got a good collection, Tyler kept throwing eggs in his basket but would miss and then he would have to turn around and pick the egg up again. Tapanga acted like an old pro, I held her basket and she picked up the eggs!
This past Saturday, April 11, NPUMC hosted their annual egg hunt and so I took the kids out there. They always do a really nice hunt for the kids. The Easter Bunny comes out for the kids to visit with and they have prize eggs for every child!
Thomas met us at the church and we split up, because the kids were in different age groups. This time Thomas went with Tapanga and I went with the boys. Tapangas group ended up being smaller than they anticipated and so Tapanga filled her basket to the brim. She ended up with at least 5 prize eggs, which Tanner needed one and then we turned the extras in for any child that didn't find one. At the boys hunt, Tanner took off and found many eggs around the playground. Tyler got a good amount this time and found prize egg #15!

Tapanga didn't want to finish hunting and so once we got her into the gym and were looking through the baskets it was about time to start calling the kids down to the prize table to select the prizes they wanted. Tyler and Tanner ended up with numbers 15 and 16 and when called I had expected them to pick the Easter baskets with the monster trucks in them but no...when we got up to the table and we handed over the eggs they both took off running to the end of the table where there were two race car semi trucks! Boy did the boys surprise me...sure did make Grandpa proud!

While we waited for Tapanga's number to be called we visited with the Easter bunny. Tapanga wasn't quite sure what to think of him, but she did sit for a quick picture! Tyler and Tanner love characters and enjoyed visiting with the Easter bunny.

We had a great time hunting eggs this year and were glad we were able to make so many hunts. The kids don't really care about the candy, its all about the hunt and the eggs. Tanner loves to carry his basket around with his eggs in a Wal-mart sack and Tapanga throws a fit if anyone tries to take her basket or eggs! She is very protective of them all and has to carry them everywhere!
