The Monkey Treehouse

On Friday (April 10), we were invited to join a couple of our friends on a trip to The Monkey Treehouse. Laura had heard about this place from one of her customers and thought it would be something fun for the kids. It would be an hour drive to get to the treehouse, but we thought it would be fun. Since it was Good Friday I was off from school and Thomas was also off so I dragged him along with me.
Thomas wanted to go to IHOP for breakfast so we went to breakfast and then Joy and the girls met us there so that we could drive together to Nashville. Laura and kids met us in Nashville at the Treehouse.

The Monkey Treehouse was a little smaller than I had expected when we first arrived, but it turned out to be perfect sized after the kids started playing. The area was divided into different sections/areas and not really by walls. In the center of the play area was a rubber box (a box filled with pieces of torn up rubber), to the left were two big treehouses with slides and to the right was the toddler area, art area, kitchen and dress up areas. What was really neat was that there was an adult area with comfy chairs. The size of the play area turned out to be perfect, because we didn't have to follow the kids around everywhere they went we could sit and visit and still keep a good eye out on the kids.

The boys really enjoyed playing with their friends. Tanner liked the art area and brought home tons of pictures! Tyler really enjoyed going from area to area and was upset when it was time to go because he was playing with friends in the dress up area. What was frustrating was when we first got to the treehouse both boys found the train areas and played with them for a lot of time...we have the same trains at home!

Tapanga really liked the ball pit in the toddler area and if you couldn't find her there you might have found her in the rubber pit! She loved scooping, dumping, and playing with the rubber pieces....she even fought with another little girl who took her shovel from her! She is not a pushover!

Even though it was a rainy, stormy day, all in all it was a great day at the Monkey Treehouse...the only thing I wish it that it were a little closer to home!
