Schlitterbahn-Monday and Thursday

One of the things I am most excited about doing on this trip is visiting Schlitterbahn. I loved Schlitterbahn when Thomas and I came last year and I can definitely see why its the #1 waterpark!

I was a little concerned, because New Braunfels suffered flooding just a week before we were to go to San Antonio. Parts of Schlitterbahn were actually closed because of the flooding and I was worried it wouldn't open by the time we were coming, but have no fear they opened up all the way by the Friday we left!!!

Schlitterbahn, New Braunfels, is comprised of 3 different main areas. We started out in the original part of Schlitterbahn (my favorite). In this part there are at least 3 different kid areas, but there are a ton of what they call tube chutes. Many of there attractions, especially the tube chutes do not have height requirements so all the kids could come along, even Tapanga!

Schlitterbahn offers free tubes and life jackets to all its guests and even special ones for the kiddos so they don't fall through! Many of the tube chutes in this area are feed by the natural spring water of the river, so its not all chlorine filled and nice! It was also nice and cool on the hot, Texas day!
Mom at the end of one of the tube chutes...its a little bumpy!Grandpa and Tyler were buddies on this ride.
Tyler was very nervous about the rides in the beginning, saying he didn't want to do them and he wanted to go to the kiddy area. Since everyone else was going though he had to also! By the end of the trip he was having a ball!
Poor mom did get dumped a couple times, but even she enjoyed herself!
Tapanga is loves the water and is very adventurous...she loves the slides!
Tubes aren't just good for going down the water, but nap time also!
There were so many things to see and do we didn't leave the main area on Monday, but we had big plans that when we returned we would do the fun water coaster rides at the other parks!

Day 2-

In the Blastenoff section of Schlitterbahn, there was a huge kids structure with 4 bigger kid slides. Tanner was gung ho on these from the beginning, Tapanga was pretty much also, and when we finally got Tyler up there we couldn't get him down!
Schlitterbahn is probably most famous for its Master Blaster, its uphill water coaster. Tanner and daddy rode this together. The boys were just at the right height for the rides that did require a certain height and Tanner was ready for them all.

There newest uphill water coaster is the Dragons Revenge, which actually takes some of the water roller coaster aspects and then includes some special lighting and video techniques to up the ride. Everyone but mom and Tapanga rode this ride.
Along with the Master Blaster and Dragons Revenge they also have a family uphill coaster ride...which we all could ride!

Schlitterbahn is so much fun for the whole family! We had a great time and wish it were closer to us. We will definitely visit again and maybe next time go to Schlitterbahn, South Padre Island, were they tube chute actually connects to many of the other rides so you never have to get out of the water if you don't want!
